Event Security Tethered Drone Operations & Geospatial Technology: LandSkyAI & Rave Me Away Introduce CrowdIntelligence+

Event Security technology collaboration showing Crowd Intelligence Plus by LandSkyAI and Rave Me Away with tethered drone and live crowd environment.

Event Security Reimagined Through Aerial Overwatch and Real-Time Mapping

The first conversation between LandSkyAI and Steve Rubin started with a simple question. How do we make large-scale events safer without adding more chaos, more radios, more noise? How do we solve the ever present pain points of securing enough staffing, constant no shows, and lack of experience? How can security companies better monitor their staff on site during events?

Steve Rubin had seen it all. As the President and CEO of Steve Rubin Consulting LLC, he leverages more than 26 years of experience in global event management and production logistics. Previously, as the Senior Director of TV Event Relations at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Steve led the coordination of nearly 3,000 televised live events worldwide, including iconic shows like WrestleMania and WWE Tribute to the Troops.

Steve understands what happens when communication breaks down at scale. He also understands how to bring teams together to prevent that breakdown.

It was through Steve’s consulting and industry network that LandSkyAI and Charlie Hinnant from Rave Me Away were introduced.

Steve Rubin and Charles Hinnant featured in Event Security partnership announcement between LandSkyAI and Rave Me Away.

Charlie Hinnant is the founder & CEO of Rave Me Away (RMA), a technology company that offers a SaaS platform and mobile application to improve communication, visualization and tracking for event organizers and security teams at live events.

His work combines operational experience from backstage and on the ground with product design and systems thinking to deliver tools that help organizers and security teams act faster and more confidently when incidents occur.  The benefit is a safer environment for attendees and an improved ground management experience for the organizers and security team.

Charlie’s commitment to this work is deeply personal: his first-hand experience at the Astroworld tragedy In 2021 and as a long active member in the live event community, inspired him to create technology that centers human safety with clear and actionable information. Charlie is passionate about translating AI and geospatial tech into practical solutions that work under pressure and keep people safe.

Through our conversations about operational alignment, Crowd Intelligence+ was born.

RMA’s real-time communications and asset-aware workflows are paired with LandSkyAI’s geospatial and sensor-fusion capabilities to give event teams richer situational awareness, faster decision making, and simpler, more reliable operational signals when every minute matters.

The Challenge with Modern Event Security

Now let's back up a little. Live events have grown in scale. The infrastructure managing them has not.

Over the last decade, the industry has seen hundreds of fatalities, tens of thousands of injuries, and thousands of lawsuits tied to crowd and emergency mismanagement. Large festivals routinely experience hundreds of EMS incidents in a single weekend.

The pattern is clear. Communication gaps. Delayed response. Lack of visibility. Poor coordination between ground teams and command.

Most venues still rely on radios, static CCTV, and verbal location descriptions. “Near the second entrance.” “Left side of the stage.” “By the beer tent.”

Those descriptions break down in dense crowds. When seconds matter, vague information costs time.

What Rave Me Away Actually Does for Event Security

Rave Me Away is not a simple event app. It is a venue-specific geospatial command platform. RMA combines GIS mapping, Real Time Kinetics positioning, near-field communication, traditional cellular coverage, and WiFi to power live event operations.

Here is what that means in practice.

Each venue is digitally geo-mapped in detail. Staff and authorized users are visualized inside an interactive digitally mapped footprint. Tracking is limited to inside the venue, not broad public tracking.

Command can see:

  • Staff positions in real time

  • Attendee movement patterns

  • Traffic density across zones

  • Deployment gaps

  • Opt-In Attendee  emergency signals

The platform can include direct attendee-to-staff connection capability and a panic button emergency system. Instead of guessing where an incident is, supervisors see its exact location inside a mapped venue grid.

The result is structured response instead of reactive scrambling. RMA was built integration-first. It is API-focused and designed to interoperate with existing technologies. That interoperability is what made the next step obvious.

Crowd Intelligence Plus: Ground Coordinates Meet Aerial Overwatch

This is where the systems converge. When an incident is reported through RMA’s platform, it is not described verbally. It is geospatially defined. Drone operators receive exact mapped coordinates instead of general directions.

Instead of searching visually for a disturbance, the drone can reposition directly to the defined grid point. Instead of relying on radio chatter, operators have structured location data.

Instead of aerial footage being reactive, it becomes targeted.

Ground mapping plus aerial overwatch.

Real-time tracking plus real-time video.

Command sees both layers at once.

This integration reduces search time, improves accuracy, and strengthens coordination between staff on the ground and operators in the air.

The Take Away

This partnership did not start with technology. It started with experience.

Steve Rubin brought decades of large-scale event operations knowledge. Charlie Hinnant brought a mission to improve communication and safety through technology. LandSkyAI brought persistent aerial overwatch built for real-world deployment.

Together, they're bringing CrowdIntelligence+, a solution that elevates event security through integrated aerial operations and geospatial intelligence.

For organizers looking to raise the standard of safety without increasing chaos behind the scenes, this is what modern event security looks like.
