A Word from Our Founder

LandSkyAI Family,

As we reach the halfway point of 2026, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been an incredible stretch for this company, and for me personally.

May marked a month of milestones. On the personal side, I became a first-time father. On the professional side, we were simultaneously deploying and going live with some of the largest projects in our company’s history. Not being involved directly on the ground on these key projects was a first for me. What I will say is that being forced to lean on the team more than I ever have revealed something I already believed but got to watch in real time: we have built something special here.

From the East Coast to the West Coast, we delivered. Every goal we set for this period, we met. We could do this because the foundation was already in place: the processes, the people, the culture. Scale only works if what sits underneath it is solid, and I am proud of what we built before anyone was watching closely enough to notice.

As we continue to ramp up hiring, I think about that culture constantly. The core team we have assembled is what makes everything else possible, and protecting and growing that as we expand is one of my most important jobs.

I also want to mention that we want to hear from everyone. Whether it is an idea around how we handle a maintenance visit, how we monitor a site, or how we respond to an alert, it is all worth hearing. We are always looking to learn, and every project, client visit, partnership, etc., has taught us lessons we continue to implement today. That mindset does not stop now.

On the operational side, the last month brought meaningful progress. We have increased our deployment capabilities so we can support multiple locations simultaneously in the field. We have enhanced our internal software to help our operators make faster, better decisions in real time. And we have deepened our manufacturer partnerships so we can bring even stronger expertise and service to every site we operate.

Halfway through the year, I could not be more proud of where we stand. Thank you all for being part of this journey.

Best,

Jake Shild

Founder, LandSkyAI

LandSkyAI Secure Cornell University Events

Cornell University Commencement Ceremony attracts over 20,000 visitors. Our primary objective was to establish a secure visual feed of the procession and parking facilities for the command center. This included responding to direct instructions from the command center and the designated Cornell Police officer. Throughout the engagement, the team navigated significant hardware, environmental, and logistical challenges. Through effective collaboration with the Cornell Police and the Public Safety Office, we successfully maintained a high-quality feed during critical periods.

Highlights

  • The hard work and resilience for the staff on duty during this event is outstanding

  • The Fotokite truly was tested with the inclement weather and wind shearing gusts.

  • Communication between all moving parts of the event was a masterpiece

50,000 BVLOS Flights: A Milestone in Aerial Security Operations

LandSkyAI has reached a significant milestone. As of May 2024, the company has executed 50,000 Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone flights across its VirtualGuard platform.

The number reflects more than scale. Each of those 50,000 flights is a real mission flown at a real property, monitored by FAA Part 107 licensed remote pilots, and built to deliver the security awareness and rapid response that modern sites require.

What 50,000 Flights Mean for Security Operations

The value of operational volume is not linear. It compounds. With 50,000 missions behind it, LandSkyAI has developed deeper insight into what works, what matters, and how to refine security operations for maximum effectiveness.

SkyGuard’s New AI Detection Capabilities

Our AI is analyzing a live drone feed of a parking lot and rooftop HVAC system. The green box shows a detection in progress—the system has identified the equipment, flagged a potential security concern, and pulled in site context. The right panel lists all available AI insights your site can monitor.

How It Works

AI Insights automatically analyze your drone footage and alert you on what matters:

  • Processes images and video on-board, on-prem, or in the cloud

  • Enriched with site maps, custom labels, and patrol history

  • Sends real-time alerts based on your defined risks

What We Detect

Trained on 2.6M images, our AI identifies:

  • People & vehicles — Including type classification and activity

  • Equipment & doors — HVAC, gates, windows (open/closed status)

  • Security threats — Graffiti, damage, packages, trash

  • Animals

  • Precise segmentation — Exact object boundaries

Fully customizable to each site and operational need.

We're Expanding: Onboarding More Drone Operators

Our deployment footprint is growing. LandSkyAI is actively hiring certified drone operators in key markets nationwide to support increased operations across our client sites.

With more hives deploying and longer patrol schedules rolling out, we need to scale our operator team accordingly. We maintain rigorous standards for all hires—every operator must be FAA certified and demonstrate advanced skills in autonomous systems and threat detection. These are the professionals securing your sites.

If you know a qualified drone operator interested in joining our team, have them send their resume to careers@landsky.ai.

We're competitive on pay and offer flexible scheduling for skilled operators.
